Recognizing the need to extend affordable workforce housing in the Town of Blacksburg, the Office of Housing and Neighborhood Services has implemented a Down Payment Assistance Program. This program is available to all low- to moderate- income residents purchasing a home in the corporate limits of the Town of Blacksburg on a first-come, first-served basis. A grant of $3,000 will be given to qualifying individuals purchasing a home as their primary residence in the Town. Utilizing Community Development Block Grant funds from HUD, the Town of Blacksburg strives to allow all homeowners to live in a safe, sanitary environment, regardless of income. In order to qualify, your total income must be lower than the figures given in the chart below, based on total family size.
