The State of Virginia requires that the Town’s Comprehensive Plan, Blacksburg 2046, be updated and reviewed at least once every five years. The Town also conducts annual amendments to the Comprehensive Plan.
The 2010 Annual Amendments to Blacksburg 2046 propose minor updates and changes to the text and two citizen requests for changes to the Future Land Use Map.

The following meetings have been scheduled for public input on the proposed 2010 Amendments to Blacksburg 2046:
Long Range Planning Committee: Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 4:00 pm in the Blacksburg Motor Company Building at 400 South Main Street.
Public Information/Input Meeting: Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 5:30 pm in the Blacksburg Motor Company Building at 400 South Main Street.
Planning Commission Public Hearing: Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 7:30 pm in the Roger E. Hedgepeth Chambers at the Municipal Building at 300 South Main Street
Town Council Public Hearing: Tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010 at 7:30 pm in the Roger E. Hedgepeth Chambers.
Additionally, citizens are welcome to attend the Planning Commission Work Session on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 5:00 pm in the Blacksburg Motor Company Building when the 2010 Amendements will be reviewed and discussed. Please note there is not an opportunity for public input at these work sessions.
